Introducing RIM’s take on the tablet – the BlackBerry PlayBook. Aiming to compete with both Apple iPad and Samsung’s P1000 tablets the initial pictures and specification look impressive. Interestingly RIM will use a new operating system specifically designed for the PlayBook offering Open GL alongside HTML 5 standards with full flash support (unlike iPad). “The First Professional Tablet” labelled by RIM’s founder Mike Lazaridis will give consumers a real alternative to iPad.
Internal storage is still TBC, but our first guess would be 16GB and 32GB options.
