Converged Devices

Blackberry offers a simple and cost effective way of combining your mobile phone with a data device allowing web browsing, e-mail and voice calls all from the same handset.

There are also a variety of PDA devices from other manufacturers that allow convergence of mobile data and voice communication.  Whilst ‘Push e-mail’ is not always possible, the PDA devices are usually higher specified and feature more processing power, faster connection speeds and the ability to add and remove your own software with ease.

Separate Devices

An all in one solution isn’t for everyone, and for those who don’t want to mix voice and data devices there is still the elegant solution of the USB modem: a slender, pocket sized device that plugs into the USB port on your desktop or laptop computer and allows access to the internet through the mobile phone networks.  Dependant on coverage, speeds of up to 7mb/s are available.
